Cornell Cares 2026!

The spirit of service unites Cornellians worldwide! Twice a year, Cornellians gather to do the greatest good through acts of service. Join us in volunteering with a Central London organisation that hosts a creative workshop and a meal for young adults from refugee, asylum-seeking and migrant backgrounds. Our opportunity is during Refugee Week, which was established in the UK in 1998, and the theme this year is Courage. Spaces are limited, so please sign up today if you’d like to join in!

Event details as follows:

What: Some volunteers will be needed to help prepare the vegetarian meal, and others can assist the workshop facilitator (this will be something creative such as painting and embroidery). No experience or specific skills necessary! After the workshop activity, we will share the meal together.

Where: Near Goodge Street tube station (Tottenham Court Rd on the Northern line) – exact location to be shared when you register

When: Thursday, 18th June 17:45-20:45

Registration Deadline: Saturday, 13th June

Price: £13 per person (to purchase ingredients & materials)

Who: Five volunteer spots available.

Why: With fellow Cornellians, by offering connection, support, and community, you will have very tangible ways of making a direct impact on young adults with lived experience of migration.
