Celebrating Cornell Spirit Across the UK: A Recap of 2024 Zinck’s Night Events

This year, Cornellians came together to celebrate Zinck’s Night in three incredible UK cities—London, Edinburgh, and Oxford. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with old friends and welcome new faces, including a group of study-abroad students joining us for the semester. The sense of camaraderie and Cornell pride was palpable, with each gathering serving as a reminder that no matter where we are, the spirit of Big Red remains strong.

Zinck’s Night is a long-standing tradition that traces its roots back to the words of the timeless Cornell fighting song Give My Regards to Davy: “We’ll all have drinks at Theodore Zinck’s, when I get back next fall!” This tradition brings Cornellians together, fostering connections and keeping the spirit of Theodore Zinck’s iconic tavern alive—wherever we may be.

Across all three locations, the turnout was tremendous. Alumni and students alike enjoyed sharing stories, making new connections, and celebrating the vibrant Cornell community in the UK. Each city offered its unique backdrop, but the shared sense of belonging was unmistakable. It was a night to celebrate the bond that unites us all as Cornellians.

Here’s to many more Zinck’s Nights to come and to the enduring Big Red spirit that keeps us all connected!
