Cornell alumni gathered for a wine tasting to get RED-y for autumn

On Saturday, 17 August, 25 Cornell alumni, current students and guests enjoyed an afternoon of sunshine, wine and great conversation at one of our favourite annual events, our summer wine tasting.

Hosted in the beautiful back garden of the home of alumni Seema Wadhwani, attendees enjoyed a range of five wines guided by Sherry Stolar, our new VP of Social Events and founder of Sherry Rose Wine, as well as Events Manager at London-based wine retailer Hedonism Wines.

Attendees tasted wines from well-known wine regions such as France and Italy and grape varieties like Pinot Noir and Sangiovese, as well as from some unusual places like Uruguay and grapes including Aligote.

By tasting wines from various grape varieties and regions, attendees were able to understand the styles of wine they like and, most importantly, the language to use to make better wine choices for themselves the next time they are in a shop or restaurant.

The event was over-subscribed and so popular that we are looking to do another one before the end of the year, so keep your eyes peeled for a holiday-themed tasting, as well as tasting events of other drinks categories, including beer and sake!
